Sarria: the perfect starting point
Sarria is where more pilgrims begin the Camino de Santiago than anywhere else each year. The reason is simple: it sits at kilometre 100 of the French Way — the minimum distance required to earn the Compostela. In less than a week of relaxed walking, you reach the cathedral.
The Rúa Maior, the main street of the old town, is the artery of the Camino in Sarria. Here you'll find the most authentic pilgrim atmosphere: walkers from every corner of the world, gear shops, hostels and, now, Hotel Kavia Sarria.

Does the hotel have a swimming pool?
Yes. Hotel Kavia Sarria has an outdoor pool for the exclusive use of guests, at the rear of the building. Use of the pool is included in your stay at no extra charge.
Do you stamp the pilgrim passport at the hotel?
Yes. We stamp the Camino pilgrim passport (credencial) for all our guests at reception, free of charge and with no prior arrangement needed. The Hotel Kavia Sarria stamp is valid as an official Camino stamp for the Compostela.
Can I leave my backpack at the hotel if I arrive before check-in?
Yes. Luggage storage is free for all guests. You can leave your backpack or suitcase at reception from early morning and collect it whenever you like.
What types of room does Hotel Kavia Sarria have?
The hotel has three categories: Standard Double on the ground floor, Superior on floors 1 and 2 (double or triple), and Suite Apartment with Terrace in the attic for up to 4 people. All rooms include a minibar, TV, WiFi and double shower.
Is the hotel accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes. The building is newly constructed and fully accessible: lift, access ramps and a fully adapted Superior room with a step-free shower and support rails.
